SOME LIKE IT HOT: “Marilyn Monroe” Promotional Thermometer

Marilyn Monroe’s billowing white dress from “The Seven Year Itch” (1955) is perhaps the actress’s most iconic look, and one of the most popular outfits of all time! Banking on the popularity of the film, the famous image of Monroe was used to promote the release of her new picture, “Some Like it Hot” (1959), as featured here on this vintage promotional thermometer. Painted white and orange and oblong in shape, the oversized metal thermometer features that iconic image of Monroe surrounded by the title of the film in black text. Its functionality has not been tested. It is in good condition, with slightly misshapen edges. Scratches are present throughout the surface, especially at the top and bottom edges. Some stickers are present on the reverse.
